Welcome to the Web site of the United Methodist Church of Mantua, a lively, mid-sized church in Gloucester County, NJ — a stone’s throw away from the exciting inner city life of Philadelphia to the west and the sublime peach orchards of Harrison Township to the south.
If you know what you’re looking for in a church home, and if what you’re looking for includes spirited/spiritual worship based on biblical principles, a variety of programs for all ages, solid Christian education and youth programs, good music, and opportunities to grow spiritually through study and community action, then you should plan to attend one of our Sunday services (9:15 and 11:00am) and check us out.
The Sunday morning services are usually led by myself with occasional guest preachers. There are three voice choirs to accommodate all ages; the younger set (Cherub Choir), older elementary (Junior Choir) and everybody else who’s older (Senior Choir).
Worship styles vary at Mantua UMC. Our 9:15 service is Traditional, as you can tell by the previous description. Our 11:00 service is Contemporary, featuring a joyful praise band, the Eons, and the message, including full media support.
We are a church of just over 360 members with an average attendance of around 200. Our Christian education program (11:00 AM) provides Sunday School classes for everyone from age two through adult (four adult classes and one intergenerational class at 9:30 AM). We feature ample off-street parking, full accessibility to persons with handicapping conditions, and an air-conditioned facility.
Our primary focus is developing disciples for Christ. Why not click some of the links here including our highlights of the week and upcoming events and see what the UMC of Mantua has to offer? If you can’t find the answer to your question, by
all means, feel free to email us at email@example.com and we’ll do what we can to fill you in.
We think you’ll enjoy being part of the United Methodist Church of Mantua. A genuine, warm greeting awaits you.
Grace and peace in Christ,
