Below are the existing choirs, each with an open invitation for new members to join:
The Cherub Choir is for children of our church from age 4 through the 2nd grade. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm until 7:30 pm. We sing from October to May, usually on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at the 9:30 service.
Director: Joyce Wescott
Junior Choir is open to all students in Grades 3 through 8. Rehearsals are held immediately following the 9:15 A.M. church service every Sunday from September through May. (Snacks are served since Junior Choir members miss the Fellowship Time in McConnell Hall!) The Junior Choir sings at the 9:15 service on the first and third Sundays of the months of October through May. For more information contact Nancy Overton, Junior Choir Director.
The Praise and Worship Team of Mantua UMC is made up of people who want to share their talents with others to inspire an atmosphere of worship that is different than the traditional service. The group leads in singing contemporary Christian songs, as well as some old favorites, and then there is prayer and a short message. The service is from 11:10am to noon on Sunday mornings. It is open to all those who wish to make a joyful noise to the Lord. Musical knowledge is not a requirement – we only ask that you come with a song in your heart.
The Senior Choir has members starting from 9th grade and up. We sing during the 9:30 worship service every Sunday from October through the first Sunday of June. Our practices are Thursday evenings at 7:30pm in the Choir Room below the sanctuary. Each year we present at least one special holiday cantata on a Sunday evening. For further information contact Kathy Durand, Senior Choir director.
