The Compassionate Kitchen Team consists of members of our church family who help provide a funeral luncheon for families during the loss of a loved one. Such help consists of providing or serving food (salads, desserts, etc.) or helping set up tables, or being willing to clean up McConnell Hall before or after the luncheon. We are currently in need of a new organizational leader. If you can help, please contact Pastor Doug.
Memorial Day Slide Show We are presenting a photo slideshow honoring our church friends and family who serve or have served in the military. Please either email a photograph or leave one in the office if the service men or women were not in the slide show previously. ROCK THE BLOCK UPDATE!!!
We are in need of contributions!!! Please, if you can give any amount it would be so appreciated! You can put your contribution in an envelope labeled Rock The Block and put it in the offering plate on Sundays or you can give your contribution to Pastor Doug, Donna Hanahan, or myself. If your contributions are going to be made by check, please make the check payable to UMC of Mantua and then note in the memo that it is for Rock the Block.
We are selling Phillies signs again this year!! They are big signs and they are $7 a sign. If you are a TRUE Phillies Phan, buy your sign and show your support! 100% of the proceeds go to Rock the Block. Please spread the word if you know any Phillies Phans!!!! Please see Donna Hanahan or myself if interested in buying a sign.

The Acolyte End of Year Schedule
Sunday, June 3rd: Riversharks Game we will leave immediately after worship and Sunday School. The game begins at 1:05 pm.
Wednesday, June 6th: Deptford Skating Rink 5:30 pm
Saturday, June 16th: Acolyte End of Year Event We will meet at the church at 10:30 am to go to Clementon Park. There is an amusement park and water park that are both included, so you will need a change of clothes. We will pack our own lunch that we will be able to bring into the park. The cost will be $20.00 per person. Acolytes will be paid for. Families and friends are welcome to attend with us. I will need to know how many of your family are attending by May 27. Student Recognition is June 17th. We would like to honor this year’s graduates! Please contact the office with the Student’s Name, Grade Graduating From, and the name of the school the Student was attending. If the student will be attending college, please let us know their intended major and the name of the college they will be attending. Thank You!
ATTENTION ALL HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS The Alice Buck Memorial Scholarship will again be awarded this year to any graduating high school senior who is furthering their education, is a member of the United Methodist Church of Mantua, and completes the application process NO LATER than June 10, 2012.
Application forms are available in the church office. Scholarships will be awarded on Student Recognition Sunday/Father’s Day, June 17, 2012.
